Practical Experience. Analytical Thinking. A Hands-On Approach.
My background spans military operations, election technology, government, and business analytics. I bring those experiences together to help organizations solve operational problems, use information more effectively, and build processes that work in the real world.
A Consultant Built on Real-World Experience
Matthew Winders is a New Hampshire-based consultant with experience across election technology, military operations, government, and data analytics. He holds an MBA with an Analytics focus from the University of New Hampshire's Paul College of Business.
His work has included coordinating operational planning for more than 200 personnel with the New Hampshire Air National Guard, supporting election technology operations across New Hampshire, analyzing procurement and inventory data within the utility sector, and conducting federal grant analysis for the U.S. Department of Education.
Across those roles, the common thread has been the same: taking complicated information and operational challenges and turning them into practical systems people can actually use.
I didn't plan to become a consultant — the work found me.
While working with the City of Rochester's election operations, I had the opportunity to work alongside VotingWorks and see firsthand the work they were doing. That relationship eventually led to an opportunity to contract with them directly.
I quickly realized how much I enjoyed the work: stepping into a complex environment, understanding how things operate, building relationships with the people doing the work, and helping solve problems in real time.
That experience ultimately helped shape Matthew Winders Consulting.
Since then, I've found that the organizations I enjoy working with most don't necessarily need someone to arrive with all the answers. They need someone willing to listen, understand the full picture, ask the right questions, and then help turn ideas into something practical. That's the approach I bring to every engagement.
